How would you like to go on the road with The Rolling Stones? Be on the roof with The Beatles for their last performance? See Janis Joplin at London’s Royal Albert Hall? Be behind the scenes for the shooting of the Who’s Next cover, the making of “Quadrophenia,” or be at the filming of The Beatles' Let It Be?

Then come to Ethan Russell’s THE BEST SEAT IN THE HOUSE. A live performance, one night only: 7:30, Saturday, April 18th at North Bay’s Capitol Centre. Reception in W.K.P. Kennedy Gallery with artist and his work immediately following.

TOUR THE EXHIBITION OF ETHAN RUSSELL'S PHOTOGRAPHS FOR FREE AT THE W.K.P. KENNEDY GALLERY IN OUR GALLERY I SPACE FROM TUESDAY, APRIL 7, TO SATURDAY, APRIL 18, DURING REGULAR GALLERY HOURS!

No one else has had quite the same, remarkable journey as multi-Grammy nominated author and photographer Ethan Russell. In 1967 he was a young American with a Nikon camera living alone in a small London apartment, aspiring to become a writer. Just a few years later he was known as one of the foremost rock photographers in the world.

He would go on to photograph THE WHO’S “Quadrophenia,” THE BEATLES last photo session, and many others including JERRY LEE LEWIS, THE MOODY BLUES, ERIC CLAPTON & CREAM, TRAFFIC, LINDA RONSTADT, RICKIE LEE JONES, THE EAGLES, and more.

Ethan’s lifetime involvement with the singer-songwriter motivated his development of a new kind of short, music based film, the inspiration for what later became known as “music video.” He directed the last film of JOHN LENNON & YOKO ONO in Central Park. He directed videos with JONI MITCHELL, RICKIE LEE JONES, EMMYLOU HARRIS, PAUL SIMON, ROSANNE CASH, HANK WILLIAMS, JR. and more.

“It was a quite a ride,” says Russell.

Ethan has written three books exploring these years but with the live show he now focuses on his “ride,” what it really was like to be there.
