Scan Lines/Hybridity

The elements of air, water, fire and the animal world, spark Bruce Cull's (Latchford) and Jim Riley's (Burlington) departures into a very dynamic and fluid interaction between painting practices and technology-based imagery. The artists put into confrontation found objects from their natural surroundings, intuitive expressions, perhaps on canvas or board, and digital video pieces containing idiosyncratic images or text. Other elements that are played with, like visibility and obstruction, or the way a detail becomes a whole world when the observer is forced to approach the work, or discover new possibilities when encouraged to change the point of view, all of this becomes part of Scan Lines/Hybridity in our Gallery II Main Space.
