Nipissing University Exhibitions

FAVA Juried, BFA Graduating Class, BEd Students, Staff & Faculty

April 10 - 19, 2012

Join us for three exhibitions from Nipissing University in the WKP Kennedy Gallery Space, including the juried FAVA Exhibition, the BFA Graduate Exhibition and the BEd Program's exhibition, "We Practice What We Preach".

In the Gallery II Main Space is a Juried Exhibition of works from students from the Department of Fine and Performing arts, as well as the Bachelor of Fine Arts Graduate Exhibition, which showcases works by Ben Barak, Christine Charette, Emily Evans, Laurel Gough, Ginger Irwin, Lesley Lane, Brittany Lee, Carissa MacIntosh, Kelsey Russell, Whitney Ruttan, Nick Scarfone and Allison Smith.

In the Gallery I Space is "We Practice What We Preach XI", which is the annual juried show of art by Nipissing University Schulich School of Education students, staff, and faculty.  Since it began in 2002, the show has evolved from a small volunteer group show of work by 12 artists to one where 40+ submit works from which about half are selected to exhibit at the W.K.P. Kennedy Gallery.  The emphasis of the show is not only to showcase works by future teachers and their professors but also to provide an educational experience for both the participants and the audience.  Artists who participate in the show must include an artist's statement to share details of their work, plus help hang the show and organize the opening as part of learning how to do so for their future students.
