Kirk Titmuss

May 28 - June 9, 2011

In his first gallery showing, Kirk Titmuss examines the hockey goalie mask from both the illustrational and sculptural planes with moments of whimsy and imagery. They are juxtaposed with up close observations of the earliest and utilitarian versions of the face mask. The artist touches upon the historical, theatrical and comic elements of the mask by combining all three qualities.
