Collect and Assemble

Collect and Assemble by North Bay artist Allan Hirsh is an exhibition of mixed media and found object scuptural works in the Kennedy Gallery's Gallery II Main Space.

The artist is interested in the relationships that different objects have with each other and enjoys exploring visual balance in three dimensional space as the shape of one artifact plays off another. Texture, colour and type of material are all taken into account.

Individual artifacts that once were used daily have been discarded and ignored. Allan Hirsh finds these objects and tries to see their texture, shape and use in a new light. He creates a new story for them in the creation of these assemblages. New relationships and meanings are formed and the new gestalt offers an organization that is hopefully both unique and visually interesting.

There will be a closing reception for Collect and Assemble on Saturday, October 5, from 1 - 4 pm at the gallery.
