WKP Kennedy Gallery
Some of the Camp activities will include:
Spray
Painting -
Use old spray bottles filled with different colors of watered down paint. Use
the bottles to create spray paint pictures. You can use regular sized pieces of
paper or a large piece of butcher paper. We?ll be using large butcher paper for
this project to fill one side of the art studio. Students will do a mini- mural
Pollock style painting : students will play around with the drip technique to make an abstract piece of art.
Colorful portraits : Students will draw a ?portrait? of themselves or someone else and then rather than using "skin tone" colors will use bright vibrant colors which they will have mixed themselves.
Fundamentals in acrylic:
Students will learn how to prepare for making a painting. This will include the initial drawing from a still life the students will have set up, considering what colors they'd like to use, and then mixing these colors by themselves. Following this student will make a piece to be featured in Gallery Gift shop on our Artstars wall.
Fundamentals in Watercolor:
Students will learn the basics to watercolor painting; including the wet on wet technique, the variety of brushes an artist uses with watercolor painting, as well as how to mix color with watercolor. Students will then be able to use a template to create a watercolor piece OR be able to draw their design for the watercolor painting.
