?The Art of? Installation Art:

Art is what it is, because it assumes process. Its agency is the act of making something become. It is creation, it is a relationship born. Art installations are born into a gallery space, people are affected by them, and new inspirations and ideas are also born from them. New life is breathed into the gallery, and goes beyond exhibiting individual art pieces. It reaches into transforming a gallery into an art piece and a total experience, with an abstract or concrete message and subjective understanding. When the exchange between an artist?s creation and the viewer materializes, it then becomes a process on its own and a cultural experience. Christine Charette will be teaching the ?Art of? Installation Art and as the outcome, students will collaborate on an installation (in the gallery).
