Siqiniup Qilauta does Inuit cultural performances that include: throat singing, drum dancing, singing traditional songs and Inuit games. They have been actively performing as a gruop since 2001, nationally and internationally, at various festivals, gatherings and events. The name of the group, Siqiniup Qilauta roughly translates to "The Sun's Drum." The name was influenced by an Inuit legend about the sun. When the sun has a complete halo around it, it indicates good luck and the halo is meant to be a drum.
